Down Home Southern Flavor
In the 1940's and 50's young men and women moved North from the farm life of southeast Alabama to find work at the textile mills in the valley area of east Alabama and Columbus, GA. They had many family members still in our area. Louisville and the surrounding area became known as "down home." Everything from down home tasted better including Louisville Pecan Co. pecans. One of those going north in the 50's was George Currie. George missed down home and came back to work for Louisville Pecan Co in 1957. He has been with us for over 50 years and is now our plant manager, working to make sure Louisville Pecan Co. pecans have that "Down Home Southern Flavor."
